Exceptional, Accessible

care for teens and their families.

Destinations now offers a telehealth Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for teens in recovery from substance abuse and mental health issues. If your teen is struggling with addiction to drugs or alcohol or with mental health issues like depression, anxiety, or OCD, our team can help.

In our telehealth IOP, teens participate in a variety of therapies to help them work through the underlying causes of addiction, develop healthy coping skills, and build a network of support.

Our Telehealth IOP for Teens

Teens who are part of our telehealth IOP have access to all the same therapists, counselors, and recovery specialists as clients in our in-person programs. The goal of our telehealth program is to help teens return to themselves and heal no matter where they are.

If in-person treatment is not an option for your family for any reason, consider our telehealth program. This flexible, personalized treatment program can allow your teen to stay in school and live at home during treatment while still receiving world-class care and therapy.

Some of the therapies we incorporate into our telehealth IOP include:

  • Individual therapy – One-on-one sessions with a therapist allow teens to open up about personal issues and learn how to cope with difficult situations
  • Family therapy – Teens and their parents can work through family conflict, rebuild trust, and learn how to support each other in these sessions
  • Group therapy – Your teen will build a network of support and learn from the experiences of others in recovery under the direction of a therapist
  • Experiential therapies – We offer a wide variety of creative outlets such as art therapies for teens to learn how to express emotions

Our telehealth IOP is designed for adolescents ages 12-17. This program takes place Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4-7 pm.

At Destinations, we believe parental involvement is essential for success in treatment. Parents attend family therapy and education classes in order to understand how to best support their teens. Our telehealth IOP offers parents a unique opportunity to be part of their teen’s recovery.

Educational Programs and Alumni Support

In all of our programs, teens receive educational support. Keeping up with schoolwork and continuing their education is important for teens in recovery. For teens in recovery, maintaining a sense of normalcy can help make these new healthy habits and coping skills feel like part of their everyday life, and we never want to make the transition back into the classroom more difficult.

In our telehealth IOP, your teen will attend treatment in the afternoons on weekdays, allowing them to continue attending classes. We won’t require them to spend time in treatment during school hours so that they can go to class, work with a tutor, or keep up with virtual learning alongside their classmates.

In addition, Destinations offers an alumni program to help teens connect with a mentor who understands the unique challenges they are facing. This program also provides ongoing support once a client has completed a treatment program. At Destinations, we believe that recovery is a lifelong process, and that continued education and support is vital for lasting sobriety and healing.
