BBQ Brisket

Destinations to Recovery has created this new Chef’s Corner, where parents can find healthy recipes for their hungry teens that are recovering from addiction. Check out this week’s recipe below:

BBQ Brisket

  Ingredients

  • ¼ cup salt
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 ½ tbsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp oregano
  • 4-5 lb brisket

Preparation

In a small bowl combine the first six ingredients. Rub the mixture all over the brisket and let stand for an hour. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F. Place the brisket in a roasting pan. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in oven for 5-6 hours. Remove from oven and allow to cool for an hour. Shred the brisket and fold in your favorite BBQ sauce. This is wonderful served with fried won ton skins and coleslaw. To learn more about our healthy recipes for teens recovering from addiction, give us a call at 877-466-0620.
